Vanessa Villarreal creates playful tableware and small sculptures using the handbuilding technique. Her unique ceramics have a delicate and feminine quality that are inspired by the beauty and mysticism of the natural world.
Each piece is handmade in her home studio in Gatineau, Quebec. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Oregon College of Art & Craft in Portland, OR and was an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center in California.
She has been teaching and working in studios for over 20 years in places such as California, Oregon, Arizona, Montreal and Ottawa. She is an American ( a Californian) living in Quebec where she settled with her family in 2016.
In 2019 she collaborated with Anthropologie to create a line of 9 unique ceramics pieces for their Summer collection that was sold in stores worldwide.
